Guest guest
Hi Sara, This is Steph in VA. I have had arthritis for almost 6 years. I have been on Remicade for just over 5 years. Unfortunately, you will be hard pressed to find a drug that does not have side effects. I agree with the previous post that suggested you try Enbrel first before the others. I did. I got a good response to it but not enough to be worth the storage concerns. (I had just graduated from college and the jobs I was looking at included a lot of travel). I figured I would try Remicade and if it didn't work I would go back on Enbrel. Remicade has been wonderful for me. The company was also very helpful when I was unemployed for a little while last year. Since I had been having excellent results with Remicade for 4 years at the time, the company approved me for immediate full financial assistance in 48 hours. I currently get my treatment at home with the help of a home health care nurse. It is much more relaxing than being at the hospital. I hope that was helpful. Take care, Steph in VA A friend of mine works for the company who makes Remicade. She said it's a good one. (I read up on it. I hardly think that liver disease and heart failure are " good, " but I degress.) I thought maybe though that it might be worth the try. Then I read that it was a 2hr appt, plus time to make sure you wouldn't die from a reaction. I have 4 kids....there's no way I can take time out to get this drug every 6 wks, esp in the beginning when it's 3 doses in 6 wks. Has anyone tried this drug? What was your experience? Thanks again.
