Guest guest
Hello to all of you knowledgeable people on this list. I have a question that maybe one of you can answer. I have recurring eye infections and wonder if any of you have had this problem and if it is possibly because of the RA or maybe the Remicade and/or Mtx. I woke up this morning with one eye swollen and red again. I am really dreading going to church looking like this. I have asked my PC about this, he says go to the Rheumy and the Rheumy said see an Ophthalmologist. I finally saw the old GP in our little town and he at least gave me eye drops and antibiotics. Nobody to see on Sunday. I never did get to the Ophthalmologist. Hugs to all, Pat
Guest guest
Hi Pat, Do you have Sjogren's syndrome with your RA? I do and I have very dry eyes with this disease. I go to that eye doctor they want you to go to, but he has really helped me with special lubricant drops and a newer eyedrop called Restasis. It is wonderful. I am wondering if you have dry eyes and if so if it is making you more prone to infection or maybe it is just plain old allergies or something? Not an MD here, but just curious about the Sjogren's. Good luck. Tracie in Maine > Hello to all of you knowledgeable people on this list. Guest guest
Pat, I would make an appointment with the ophthalmologist and get it thoroughly checked out. Sorry to hear that it is an ongoing problem. Not an MD I'll tell you where to go!
