Another prednisone question....

Is it normal to be in even more pain after using prednisone short-term?

I began with 20 mg about 3 weeks ago, and the pain went away almost

immediately. I went to 15 after 5 days, and some soreness returned

the first day, but went away. When I went to 10, I was very

uncomfortable by the third day, and it did NOT go away. Now I'm on 5,

and my ankles, feet, and wrists are in quite a bit of pain, and my

hands, which were never really affected before other than some

stiffness and weakness, are getting quite swollen in the mornings, and

are constantly weak, instead of just for a day or two. I only have

two more of the 5 mg doses, then I have to wait a week before I see my

rheumy, again. Don't tell me to call, because he won't call back. My

gp even left a message for him telling him to call me, and nothing. I

just want to know if this is normal? I can't tell if the pain is

actually worse, or if I'm just more aware of it since I was mostly

pain free for almost 2 weeks.

I'm at the point that vicodin isn't even helping all the time, and it

sucks :P.
