Right now my RA is quiet (yay!). But my left ring finger is terribly

painful at the last joint. It also bends forward maybe 30 degrees off

straight up. There are no signs of redness or swelling. The same joint

on my right hand is also slightly tender. I have no trouble

straightening my right ring finger, so it is much better than the

left. The rheumatology people said this is not RA. So I asked my

regular doctor and he agrees - he said it is probably OA. But I have

never injured this finger on either hand and it certainly is not

damaged from weight-bearing. They did x-rays but I haven't heard the

results, yet.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? It's not gout - my hubby had that

and this is nothing like that.

Hi, Nina. It sounds very familiar to me.

In my DIP joints and some PIP joints this has been going on since my middle

30s. I was told it was probably osteoarthritis or inflammatory

osteoarthritis. My right little finger has a nodule there.

Not an MD

I'll tell you where to go!
