Guest guest
I have not posted here, but have talked extensively with June. I won't go into the long history, but I am posting on behalf of my father who has Parkinson's(2001) and diagnosed with LBD last year. His decline has been rapid. He is on his 2nd hospitalization for med changes. He is in a Geri Psych unit. He was having a good day upon admission. Very lucid, answering questions, etc. However, in one week his decline has been alarming. Dad has never been angry or agressive. Today he raised a fist at a nurse and is extremely agitated. The doctor did add 5 mg. of Namenda to his regimine, but quickly removed it due to a low HR. So, in addition to adding more Seroquel, the only other change was adding Depakote at night. My question is, has anyone experienced a severe shift in a LO with this drug? My mom said she hasn't seen my dad this bad EVER. She is feeling so defeated. She hasn't spoken to dad's doctor all week (another problem altogether). Any insights would be greatly appreciated.
