Guest guest
My x-rays showed that I have calcification in both feet. Since my doctor doesn't believe in discussing anything with his patients, I was wondering if this is can be attributed to RA, or if something else has caused it? I did suffer plantar fascitis sometime around 2001, but it cleared up when I lost weight. It would get so bad I literally had to crawl to the bathroom in the morning to shower. Until about 6 months ago, I've had no pain in my feet at all. I've lately been having issues with the back of my heel (where the achilles tendon attaches) and ball of my foot (around the first joint of my big toe), but the pain is different and in a different place. I also have extreme swelling directly over the ankle joint on both sides. I've also begun to swell along the top of my foot from midway between ankle and toes, behind my second and third toe, with associated pain. This is new, and appears to go along the bone, or possibly tendon. The report did not specify where the calcification is, how severe, etc., and my doctor did not get to see the xrays. Shoot, I don't even think he looked at the report before I came in...I had to remind him I had xrays done. Grrrrr. I've been trying to research this online, but have only found information on calcification of vertebrae associated with RA. Thanks again for your help. You guys have been a lifesaver.
