Guest guest
People are weird ... I was in the grocery store this morning. I went to the drinks aisle, and as I was putting a few bottles into my basket, a clerk nearby commented " There's a man who knows what he wants " . As usual in these situations, I ignored him (stupid NT's) and continued on my merry blitzkrieg-male-shopper way (my style is to go in, ignore as much as possible of what's happening around me, get what I want, not respond to the cashier's small talk, and leave quickly). But I wonder ... you mean most people don't make a list of what they want and, after having been in a store a few times, figure out where different things are so they can go right to them? WTF is wrong with this guy? On another subject, I don't think there's a picture of me on the group's site, but go to http://home.alltel.net/tychobrahe/austrip.html ... two of the pictures referenced at top have me in them. Two hints: I don't have a beard, and I'm not female. Doug
Guest guest
I use mind maps when I shop, and right now all the stores are new, because we moved communities... I am slowly memorising, " imprinting " and adjusting, and thus shopping is getting less stresfful. I realised this year that I do a similar thing when driving places or talking about going places, or talkign about a locatin, or even listening to someone else talk about somewhere, I need to locate it in space before I move on to what they are telling me abou tit... it occurred to me, that perhaps this could fit the criteria of a " nonfunctional routine " (ie the AS dx), but I didn't realize how much I didn't until this year... (comparing to my partners counting rituals) dani from the land where the city planners must have insisted that all roads have at least three name changes AND three directions changes along it's length, and must cover up to half of the city in it's lenght as well... victoria BC baby! gprobertson@... wrote: > i shop according to a known route. i dont need a shopping list. i know > it. if i have to deviate from my route, i have problems though. i > have never had a comment. i doubt that anyone notices. > > Message: 3 > Date: Mon, 22 Dec 2003 11:21:19 -0500 > > Subject: strange comment in store > > People are weird ...
