Yeast & Bacteria

I have a three year old son with mild autism. We did an Organic Acid Profile in

May that showed high yeast and bacteria. Did a course of Flagyl and Nizoral.

When the yeast and bacteria were under control, my son was the best he'd ever

been. However, it doesn't seem to stay under control very long. For months my

son has been taking Nizoral (1 teaspoon compounded, I think equals 1/3 of a

pill) once every 3 days and Nystatin 2x a day. Also takes once ProBioGold 1x a

day. Eats very few sweets.

We just did another Organic Acid Profile, under Yeast/Fungal these were high:

3-oxoglutaric, arabinose, carboxycitric. Under bacteria, HPHPA was very high

(330.80). Can anyone share their protocol for keeping yeast and bacteria under

control, especially natural products that don't taste too bad since I need

liquid or a capsule I can open and put in a drink. I haven't heard back from my

DAN doctor yet...my son is being aggressive at school and I need help ASAP!

Thanks!

Have you tried teaching him to swallow pills? There are lot's more effective

options in the natural category if you don't have to open it up! Things like

Oil of Oregano are really tiny pills that will slide down pretty easy of the

child is anywhere close to being able to swallow pills. I used this AWESOME cup

to teach my boys (3.5 and 5.5yo) how to swallow pills:

http://www.oralflo.com/

We started first with 1/2 a frozen pea then moved to whole pea (if your child

doesn't eat peas use another veggie they like and cut it tiny) - once they got

down the first try I had them try an oil pill - I showed them side by side that

the pea and the pill were the same size and if they could get the pea down they

could get the pill down.

After a month of using this cup my 5yo is now able to swallow 4 capsules in 1

gulp w/o the help of the cup! My 3yo can do 2 at a time if they are the small

ones. Just a warning to do the practice with the oil pills first as they will

give you multiple times to get down - the vegtable/gelatin capsules get stuck in

the spout once they are wet so you only get 1 try with those...

I didn't learn how to swallow pills till 15 and DH still has a hard time with it

so I was pretty convinced this day would be a long way off - I'm so glad that

didn't stop me from trying!

Good luck!

Thanks !! I just wondered one and hope it works! We only have

one pill these days but may add back some other things... and it

would just be good to know that Slater, and his NT sister, know how

to do this. Wish I had known about it 2 years ago!!

Thanks again!

I used pine nuts to teach our son, they are really small and shaped like a

tiny capsule. Once he had that, it was uphill from there! Now he swallows

horse pills without a flinch!

Good luck,

Kathleen
