Hi Everyone,

Does anyone have any experiences with Lyrica,Anti-depressants or

other nerve pain meds they can share.Have just been given some Lyrica

to try and having some problems.Taking 75mg at night and about 1 1/2

hrs after get an increase of tension in the spine and involuntary

shudder down left side of body.Have had problems with this sort of

thing but valuim seems to settle the spasm.Eg Last night took 5mg

Lyrica,5mg valium,Temazapam(sleeping tablet)Ibuforen and my HRT at

9.30 and was half asleep and woke to this voilent tremor/shudder.I was

wide awake in pain and spasm and nothing seemed to help.Took another

valium at 11.30 with still no relief.Ended up taking another sleeping

tablet(1/2 Stillnox) at 4.30 am and got some sleep in.This is the

third time this has happened after taking the Lyrica.

In hospital I was on 1 in morn and 2 at night along with some

anti-parkinson drug which wasn't a good mix (to long a story for

details)so they sent me home to trial the Lyrica at a lower dose but I

am feeling really reluctant about taking it as I aren't coping well as

it is without it making the symptoms worse.

I have also experienced a worsening or symptoms with some

anti-depressants.At the moment i don't take anything but would if I

could find the right one.The only one that hasn't made me feel jittery

is Avanza which on 1/2 tablet at night (15mg) put me to sleep like a

baby but there was a 2kg a week weight gain. You get this urge to want

to eat all the time.

They are trying to get my pain and these tremors under control

before they go ahead with the surgery.Does anyone have any suggestions

about what has helped them in regard to meds??
