There seems to be a big market here for pieces like that that incorporate a small mirror. Maybe because that gives the piece a " purpose " as well as the aesthetic. Some are adding wire (copper looks nice) sticking out in various loops and whorls, sometimes with beads or crystals on them. Jane
Guest guest
Hi Jane, I haven't seen mosaics done with wire and crystals, sounds very artsy. I think I would like that. I have a very pretty mirror done in pink floral china mostly, with a big pink ceramic rose sticking out and a little vase underneath it, also 3D. It's grouted in black. I know it would sell somewhere, but I lack the ooomph to go out and market it. I have done a few mirrors and picture frames. All together I guess I have done about 15 pieces of different sorts. I had them in a cute shop here, about 5 of them, and they didn't sell. I put a pretty high price on them. The owner of the shop said they would have sold in San Francisco, but that the market here is kind of dumb. I would rather keep them than to sell them for too cheap. So I will wait for some kind of opportunity to show them off, maybe I can at the University. Camille > >One of my perseverations was doing " picque assiette " mosaics.
