Guest guest
Hello, Because of Hannah having mds she was taken off the transplant list due to toxicity. mds kids can go through transplants just have to watch what they give them and how much, they follow a different protocol. she handled her high dose chemo to get her into remission very well and that was too toxic for an mds patient; her mds diagnosis did not come until the very last drops of the high dosed chemo were running, so they let her finish it and wrote a paper in the medical journals on her case. I hope this helps some? she had MyeloDysplastic syndrome (MDS for short) type of leukemia, What type does your child have? you might want to ask the oncologist treating your child to look up Dr. H. Shaw from children's hospital of Pittsburgh, PA. he was Hannah's main oncologist and we still see him. Holly Hannum mother of Hannah Jane 9, MDS-MTDS (she also has a Translocation), Blakely 17, mild adhd Bone Marrow Transplant Hi all, Are there any MDS parents out there that went through bone marrow transplants with their MDS child? We may be doing that soon and I wanted to find out how MDS children handle the level of toxicity involved with the procedure, among other things. Thanks in advance! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ No virus found in this incoming message.
