Has anyone here followed the Zone diet? I did before I met my

husband (he's a meat and potatoes kinda guy, and Zone uses LOTS of

veggies), and I lost about 40 lbs and felt GREAT on it.

I had remembered that from the beginning they claimed to help stop

general inflammation, and I'm thinking of going back on it to lose

this " baby fat " (I put on 80 lbs while stuck in the hospital while

pregnant! They kept feeding me!). I can't do Atkins, since the

high protein diets are tough on the kidneys, and I suffered kidney

failure while pregnant. I lost even more on Lindora (excellent

program if you are in southern CA, but expensive), but that, too, is

lower-carb, high protein, and even though they watch your kidneys

like a hawk, I'm afraid to try it, especially with the weird stuff

that is going on with my body right now.

Right after my second blood test came back with an even higher ESR

than teh first, I picked up a copy of The Anti-Inflammation Zone. I

haven't started, yet, but plan to in the next couple of weeks. I've

got a sick kid and feel like doodoo myself (my ankles are starting

to hurt a little bit 100% of the time, and it is taking some getting

used to :P). I did start my veggie garden, so I'm anxiously waiting

for some home-grown organic veggies in a few months.

In any case, I'm just wondering if any of you have been on this diet

and how it helped your inflammation and other symptoms.
