Guest guest
My thoughts and prayers will be with you. Hoping for the best. Neuro Appt As promised I am giving everyone a follow-up on my appt with Dr Boyd, neurosurgeon in Vancouver. Pretty well told me what I figured... he's sure my left leg deterioration is due to my tethered spinal cord. As for all my other problems, he thinks most likely a combination of my TC and other lovely spinal problems (spondolythesis/degeneration in that area). His recommendation is the same as the last time I saw him, detether spinal cord and see if that resolves all issues. If not then need to look at spinal fusion (which scares me more than detethering). Good news is my detether surgery is the simplest that there is, but not without risk of nerve damage as you all know. I forgot my old MRI films at home so need to mail them to him so he can assess the changes in my disks, etc to determine if in fact I have had changes in the spondo, etc, as he suspects, in the last 6 years. He will then get other opinions on my condition with his colleagues in the spine unit at rounds. I see him again in January, when I also am getting a nerve study done on my leg. So I don't need to make any decisions until then. Dee
