Guest guest
Thanks for the encouragement Terry. It really does help to see people further down the road. Most of the side effects are manageable. My red and white cell counts dropped which my doc says is good oddly enough. Did anyone else have those counts drop? My HCT is 28 and my WBC are 3100. I'm so grateful for my husband who makes sure I eat because left to my own devices I wouldn't. I miss being able to have the energy to do stuff and the mental acuity to remember what it is I wanted to do!! This road get's a little easier as you go down it. It will pass faster before you know it. I know you are going to kick that ole dragon's butt & become another dragon slayer. Guest guest
Thanks Terry and Ted. My hemoglobin has dropped to 9 but my doc wants to wait another month to start the epogen because they might stabilize. We don't want to reduce the dose of interferon or rebetrol because the first three months are crucial for response. The good news is that I don't get all the other viruses going around. I'm definitely hanging in there. I won't give up on this. I'm kicking that damned dragon's butt from here to eternity! -----Original Message-----From: Terry Long [mailto:pawpawto3@...]Sent: Sunday, December 22, 2002 9:55 AM Subject: RE: [ ] Terry Andi, my cell counts started dropping shortly after starting treatment. My Doctor said he wouldnt get conserned unless they dropped below 10. But if they did there was something they could do. About 3 months into treatment they dropped below 10. He started me on Epogen "not sure on the spelling". It is a 2nd shot a week. But it did raise my cell counts. My Doctor did monthly lab work to monator the Hep C & cell counts. Hang in there you will make it through the next 41 weeks just fine. It will pass faster then you thank. At the end you can say you I KICKED THE DRAGON'S BUTT AND THAT YOU WON! Guest guest
Just reading all you're been through gives me goose bumps and cold chills. Hoping you are well on your way to recovery -- and have a good lawyer! Your story is one that scares me everytime I go near a hospital. Guest guest
Hi Diane There has been some big changes in Susy & my life's. Last November we finally made the big move, after living in the Not so great southwest for 25 years. I lift my job of 23 years & we moved back to Mo. I'm only making about half what I made in Az, but we are happyer living here. Our Daughter & son inlaw are still in Az, our son & daughter inlaw are in Oh. So we are inbetween the two.
