Guest guest
Cecile, I don't know if our situations are similar or not. My RA was just diagnosed this month. My first complaint to my internist was that my hands were very painful-more so than I expected from the osteo I know I have and that they would wake me up at night feeling like they were on fire. I wanted to peel my skin off. Even before I was diagnosed my internist put me on something called Garapentin-does nothing for pain but boy did it take care of the burning. Burning is now gone and I have stopped it-course between then and now I got diagnosed. I guess I am one of the lucky ones, so far I love my Rheumy Kathy Schark Hamden CT kschark@... Guest guest
Cecile: I have the same problem. I will scratch and itch my arms, legs and stomach mostly. It's not a regular itch....but one that absolutely drives me crazy trying to get at it. I'm sure I could draw blood if I let myself dig at it with a bristly hairbrush like I want to most days. And please....I know that RA and all it's symptoms are no picnic. But your life is worth so much. The fact that you posted about something I am also dealing with means the world to me. I don't feel so isolated. I was worried the itching was maybe from stress or something. I'm sure it's medication related or part of the RA...or Neuropathy as you'd mentioned. You're a valuable member of this group, and I appreciate your post. It's so much easier to sit back and lurk, but you chose to share. I really do appreciate that. We're so lucky to have this group. It's an excellent resource for support and education. Thank you all! - In , " Cecile Shamis " <cile_03@b...> wrote: > > Do any of you just have these horrible, burning, itching episodes all > over your body, mostly on your arms and legs, that just drive you > crazy.
