Guest guest
Hi everyone, I haven't been posting much, mostly because when there are questions specifically about RA, I really don't have any answers! I can generalize, though, when it comes to how to deal with a health condition that is painful and limiting, since Dercum's Disease falls into that category! I saw a new doctor at Indiana U. hospital Friday, and he is wonderful. He is willing to take an active part in finding some answers that, if not a cure, could make life a lot better for me and others with DD. As long as I'm willing to be a guinea pig, he is willing to try things (within reason, of course.) As soon as pregabalin (Lyrica) is more readily available, he wants to start me on that for the pain, and is addressing the genetic possibilities that might cause DD. I have had one injection of xylocaine/steroid into one tumor and I have to journal any changes in the size, consistency, pain level etc. I have also found a new family doctor, a very nice and caring woman nearby. My first visit to her will be July 18, but I have heard good things about her. Some of the tumors have caused problems with sciatica, so it makes it difficult for me to sit for very long. But please know that I do try to read all the posts, and I think of you all often. I'm so glad to be a part of this family, even if I am an oddball! Peace, Judi
