Guest guest
Rita, When I first started walking on the treadmill, I could hardly go for any length of time at all. After the short walk I had to lie down and rest. In fact for the first month I had to take a nap for an hour or so after walking, because I was so out of shape from being sedentary that I thought I would die. Sometimes after the walk I thought I would die, too. My wife even worried that she thought I was about to die, too. I persisted in walking the treadmill for an entire month before I got to the point where I did not require a nap afterwards. It was hard going at first, and I was sorely tempted to just quit on many ocasions, because I felt so bad, tired and exhausted. Keep peddling from now on. It will get better in a few weeks, and you will have much more energy and feel better in about three months or so. I use my walking time to meditate while I am walking, and I feel good about that. Peddling will certainly give you an excellent aerobic workout and it will not cause any damage to your joints in your knees and hips. I now walk for 42 minutes without stopping, and afterwards I rest for about four or five minutes sitting in a chair, then I am good to go with lots of energy. You are doing great, and I admire your persistence. If you are breaking a sweat, you are doing it right! I like to break a good sweat and after a very short rest take a shower, which is very refreshing. Your legs will get stronger in the near future, and they may not even feel sore any more. At first my legs felt sore the next day after a walk, but I do not have this feeling hardly ever any more. The legs are quick to gain strength and endurance. Just remember to allow your muscles recovery time from one exercise session to the other, which usually takes from two to three days in most folks. When you no longer feel any soreness in your muscles, then the muscles have recovered and ready for more stress. Exersion, rest and recovery are the three elements required in building more strength and endurance. Keep up the good stuff! Guest guest
Oh Harry this is encouraging for sure. I have weak muscles and well yes, weak will power too. Just now though it is the muscles . Growth of strength is time consuming. I want balance and a sense of well being TODAY! Rita > Rita, > When I first started walking on the treadmill, I could hardly go for any > length of time at all. Guest guest
Hahahahahaha Just blink your eyes and every thing will be just fine. I want you to be balanced and be just right to day, too! I hate having to exercise, but I only work on the muscles I want to get strong. I am reminded about the sign I saw in my dentist's office, which made a believer out of me. It said: You don't have to floss your teeth; Only the ones you want to keep. Re: Rita's diet and exercise > Oh Harry this is encouraging for sure.
