Guest guest
HI! My name is Lou. I am 47. I am a type 2 , haveing been dx a year ago. Diabetes runs in my family. I have been lurking for a couple of weeks. Ya'll sound like a great bunch of folks. So far I have managed to loose 30 pounds and have been able to avoids meds. My last hba1c was 5.5. I pretty much eat what I want, just not all at one time. If I really want that piece of cake I get it but just a really tiny taste. And I forgo something else to make up for it. Pizza is my one big no no! It isn't so much that it is too high in carbs as the amount of fat. The fat carries the glucose into my blood stream faster that most other foods. That is where the glycemic index seems to make sense to me. Watching the numbers, Lou
