Dear Sandie: Hi, I am sorry about your pain and difficulty. I understand

what it is like. I too have a lot of pain and it is hard for people to

understand. Sorry, no one wrote to you but I guess people get busy with their

own

stuff. I know it is hard for you being you are young 33, is young. I am 57 and

have been sick since I was 16 with many things besides RA. I also have a

kidney transplant for 20 years and before that I was on dialysis for 18 years.

I

never married and never had any children. Too sick to even think about those

things. Try to focus on the important things that you have and maybe that

will help you deal with the pain and difficulty.

Sincerely, Colletti

Hi Sandie,

I would like to just welcome you to the group. I was off line for

awhile, and been back for a couple of weeks. I know it must be so

hard on you with young children. Do you have time to yourself at

all? Maybe someone in the family, could help you out, and do some of

the things with the kids that's hard for you, just a thought. We all

go in the denial stage, and it's tough. It's hard to find a rheumy,

and I hope this new one will be a charm for you. He needs to put you

on something to help stop the progression of the RA. Good luck

Tuesday, will be praying for you.

I will tell you a little about myself. I am 42yrs old, been married

for almost 13yrs, and have 2 daughters, 23 and 10, big age

difference. My husband is a OTR truck driver so he's gone all the

time. So, it's just me, and my 10yr old daughter. It's so hard too.

You know kids really don't understand, and sometimes I feel so bad.

We live quite a drive from the family, so I don't get any help. My

oldest daughter, she is really going through a time. She's been

missing for awhile, I do know she is alive, so that is nice to know.

She's just doing her thing, and not caring if I worry.

I started having problems in 01. I went to a family physician, she

just happened to have Lupus. She diagnosed me with Lupus, but she

wanted me to see a rheumy. Well, when I went he told me that I had

RA, and not Lupus. I started receiving disability in 03, it took a

year. I tried a lot of different meds, and still have always felt

sick, no relief. I changed rheumy's because of insurance, and went to

the new one last month. He diagnosed me with Lupus, and the RA is

real bad. So, I'm on Plaquenil right now, it helps Lupus and RA. So,

I'm praying it will work. I also take Methotrexate, Lodine, Loratab,

Flexeril, and Folic.

I just want you to know the group has a lot of nice people. You just

kind of have to get use to it all. Sometimes, people don't post if

they are not familiar with a type of drug, or a question they really

can't answer. But, were all here for the same reason. I've been here

almost 2yrs, and it's like my life line. I was so new to RA, and this

site helped me so much.

You let me know how your visit goes, will keep you in my prayers. If

you ever need to talk, I'm always here. I haven't been on the

computer much, having a lot of problems with my health. I go to the

doctor on Friday, so hope they can help. Their doing an x-ray on my

right hip, it's hurting so bad, and doesn't want to work anymore,

yikes. But, just know I'm here for you Sandie. I know how

devastating this disease is. But, just know that you do have a friend

here, and you will find many more.

So, take care of yourself, and I will talk to you later.

Hugs, Tawny

No apologies needed for ranting. That is what we're here for. No one

understands like fellow RA sufferers.

It is hard raising children with RA. I raised 2 and it wasn't easy.

Looking back, I just don't know how I did it.

I guess I had no choice. When the little ones need you, you find a way

to do what you have to do. I had help from family and friends,

so that made a big difference.

I was diagnosed with RA around 1976 and I STILL believe if I eat the

right thing I'll be cured, so I guess I'm in denial too. But that can

be a good thing since it keeps me reading and learning. But I do take

meds, so I'm not relying on eating the right things for treatment.

What did you try for the all natural approach? Were you seeing an

alternative doctor?

One thing you have going for you is that it's early in your disease,

and research is showing that early aggressive treatment is stopping

damage. Since I had to have both knees replaced when I was only 43, I

can't stress the importance of trying to find the right meds to slow

the progression of the disease. I wish these meds were available when

I was diagnosed.

I also have to research everything and question my doctor. I've had

some that don't like to be questioned and others that welcome having a

knowledgeable patient. I hope your appointment goes well tomorrow.
