Hi Carol,

I am new to the group, but wanted to respond.

That was sweet of you to find homes for the kittens. I had have a lot of wild

strays appear at my door as well. So far no babies though.

I am sorry about the falls but glad you finally got to the root of the problem.

I was having falls pretty frequently one while but didn't go anywhere, I am

better now. Hope you get better soon. Have a pain-free day.

Love and peace,

Ebony

Dear Group,

I too am probably a strange in your midst by now. I have been pretty busy

finding homes for the feral cat kittens born in my backyard. The Mothers are

still pretty wild, but will let me handle and take the kittens at about 5

weeks. I found homes for every one. BUT in the process, I stepped in a hole

and

fell sideways. Hurt like crazy and really swelled up. i went to the Dr. he

did an exray of my ankle and said all was fine. Next week I fell again,

AGAIN did exrays of my ankle all was fine. THen my husband went to the Dr.

with

me, and was pretty upset that he just put me off telling be it was a severe

sprained ankle. But I started to hear " popping " and pain that sent me down

to my knees when I would twist or move wrong. Finally they did an MRI and it

showed severe swelling internally, by this time I was falling or moving wrong

at least once a day. I saw an Ortho Friday,. he did leg exrays. I have a 4

inch vertical stress fractur of the tibia, the fracture is also cracking

horizonatlly and there is weaknes in the bone next to it!!!! SO, I am in a

wheelchair and have a cast- not allowed to walk at all ......Dr says my bone is

breaking faster that it is healing. I truly feel like a klutz.

Please be very careful where you walk and use your cane/walker.

Gentle Hugs & Prayers,

Carol M. in CA

You are no stranger Carol. I could almost feel your pain since I know first hand

how painful your ankle must be. I am sending some positive vibes and hope they

do some good in easing the pain. Your advice on using a cane is good. Lately I

have tried to walk without my cane since it is so awkward to carry anything at

the same time but it only takes one little wrong move and at least 3 times the

only thing that saved me from a bad fall was the fact that I was near a wall

when I lost my balance.

Hugs

June

Dear Carol,

Oh, it hurts just to read your post--I'm so sorry about your leg!! It

is so depressing to have doctors try to nullify our pain. Good thing

your husband went with you, and you found an ortho who seems to be on

the ball. I hope you heal quickly and aren't in too much pain. Do

what they say, stay off the leg!!

I applaud your efforts in finding homes for the feral cats. Our town

seems to be a doggy town, and not too many cats, but we have a cat that

has owned us for 16 years. He's never been outside, just sits on the

back of the couch and supervises the birds from there.

You will be in my prayers,

Judi
