Hi,

My MIL has had RA for ten years and gets these. She had a " trigger

thumb " (I guess that is the slang term " trigger finger " ). She ended up

going to a hand orthopod who gave her a wonderful injection in exactly

the right spot and along with some aggressive physical therapy

exercises she was able to overcome this in a relatively short amount

of time. It was just a matter of getting to the right doctor who knew

how to give the injection correctly. Her rheumy had tried, and he is

excellent, but he just could not get it like the orthopod who

specializes in hands. She has not had trouble since and that was over

two years ago. Good luck and hope this helps.! She had even

developed some deformity to the thumb which has gone away as well.
