I was positively diagnosed with MS, just yesterday. 3 MRIs (brain, C and T

spine) showed lesions on the brain and spine. This discovery, coupled with

many other symptoms I have experienced over the years, gave my doctor a

positive confirmation to the disease. Needless to say, I'm devastated!

About 5 weeks ago, I woke up with the left side of body numb and with faint

pins and needles sensations. I was having difficulty going to the

bathroom...the numbness caused my BMs to be difficult...I couldn't tell when I

was

'finished' or 'wiped' well enough. I'd also walk around with the sensation of

having poop stuck in my butt. (Sorry for the graphic detail.) What a

nighmare!!! Walking was scary...I couldn't tell when or if my foot touched the

ground. The numbness started at my armpit and continued all the way down to my

foot. Front and back, the entire side.

During this time, as doctors poked, tested and prodded at me, I began

researching my symptoms and came to the conclusion that it was MS. About a

week

and a half ago, I found an interesting article on aspertame poisoning.

Apparently, the symptoms mimic MS and also show lesions/plaques on MRIs.

Hmmmm....

Being a NutraSweet/Diet Coke junkie since the mid 80's, chewing sugarless

gum constantly after quitting cigarettes 12 years ago and drinking Crystal

Light, sugar-free Swiss Miss cocoa and Slim-Fast by the gallons...I thought,

" What if??? "

So, after I read the article (and anything else I could find on the

subject...to read for yourself, put 'aspertame poisoning' in your search

engine), I

quit all artifical sweetners. Guess what? After 3 days, I was getting

feeling back! I could go to the bathroom normally! Could it be a

coincidence????

It's been a week and a half and the numbness is nearly vanished. I only

have a very slight tingly feeling in my feet and side. I honestly don't know

what to think. I have since discovered that the whole aspertame/MS link is

nothing more than an urban legend. Is it??? You can believe I'm staying away

from artificial sweetners and MSG (same effects as aspertame) for the rest of

my life.

I will keep you updated on my progress.

Wishing all of you hope,

Kelli

Sorry for the late post...:-)

This article should not surprise anyone. Aspartame is not sugar. It is

a non food designed to fool our taste buds. Sugar contains calories. it

is the calories that make it food. Apsartame does not. Therefore it is

of no interest to ants.

There are many reasons for avoiding aspartame. The fact that it

contains no calories is not a valid reason. Sugar found in soda is a

problem in its own way. It may be good for ants but it is not good for

humans.

My advice; Drink water and avoid all sodas!...;-)
