Guest guest
Sounds like its the same here as it is at your house. i was never a good cook but i try..i love baking mostly but can cook to save my life. I thank god for dennis cause he learned how to cook really good and then when he was in navy he cooked for himself and learned some stuff around way. And now with my rsd and pain levels its great to have him cook for me also:) I am enjoying the baking this yr but i do wonder how much it will cost to send all of this stuff out. Thankfully we dont have a huge family and are just sending out pkgs to close family and a few good friends. It is fun to do and lik eyou- im sick of the commercialism with the holidays. Think no matter what even when dennis is done with school we will still do the home made xmas things too:) Hope you are doing good hun andtake care! thanks for ur email btw > > Dear > I get blamed if she gains weight because I am the cook. Guest guest
Dear , That's funny! I was a " food service specialist " in the Army back in the day. I worked as a Chef and then a food and beverage manager after that. I got into a trade school to be a drywall finisher later. The cooking has always stayed with me, although it's much more fun to do it now. " Nothing is fun once it becomes expected of you. " I'm paraphrasing of course, but Chuck Shultz of Peanuts fame said that long before I was old enough to even understand what it meant. Cooking is much more fun now that I don't have to do it for money (or 500 plates at a time). In fact being able to cook had a hand in my landing such a good wife. When we were dating, I'd invite her over and whip up whatever she liked. My wife also likes to bake, but the fudge thing is my baby. She makes brownies to die for though. She is such a good woman, I don't know what I'd do with out her. I still feel like such a burdon so much of the time. There are a few of you on here that are so young. Here I thought I was the odd man out having pain and mobility problems at 42. It's also a little odd for me being one of the only guys that posts on here. I'm always so worried someone will take something I write the wrong way, or that I'll offend someone. Anyway, it's a big deal to me when someone comments or replies to one of my posts. It lets me know I'm not alone in this. This morning was better. I could move my head and turn my neck a little. The stairs are still tough this morning, but better is welcome. Guest guest
Good Morning ! I agree that when we are expected to do something or ordered to do so, then it's a job and it's hard to take pleasure in such repetition. I love to cook too. I just wish I was more mobile and could do more than I do. I love to cook for people. LOL Not 500 at a time though. Not sure I could pull that off even with the right equipment and being healthy. lol That's a bunch of men and women to feed. I do love to cook for those who like to eat though and I usually make more than is needed. Sometimes I hit it right and make just enough. That's what I like to do because we aren't very good at eating left overs. I can have some of it the next day for lunch, but that's about as far as the left overs go. lol Did you take a fall ? I must have missed a post. I wouldn't worry too much about people taking what you say the wrong way. It happens even when nothing was said wrong. lol As we can't " hear " tone of voice in typing. That, I think is the biggest problem. There is always the apology that can be said and forgiveness. Don't worry about it. I'm sure it can all be worked out if that happens. We all risk this, not just you being the main man who posts on here. lol Yeah, you are the main man!! Ha! And we all know you are married, so there shouldn't be any flirting! I think you are rather safe here and it's nice to get a man's point of view on things at times. Notice I say " at times " lol I'm kidding! But seriously, it is nice in the respect of a man's view's on pain when he clearly feels it just as we do. I'm sure along the way, you might even be able to help someone get across to their husband or help one of us understand where he is coming from better. You are a great asset to have around! I'm glad you feel a bit better today. Have a great day! ~Tommie Re: /fudge Dear , That's funny! I was a " food service specialist " in the Army back in the day.
