Guest guest
What is your night vision like? Can you not see well because of the glare from headlights? Do you see haloes or starbursts around lights? Or is it something else entirely? Sue On Monday, April 25, 2005, at 03:56 PM, tandarat wrote: > I'm having strange problems with my eyesight. Guest guest
No, not really. It does happen to some extent, but I can usually blame that on dirty windshield or glasses . The biggest problem I have is loss of depth perception, and inability to see things, even if they are illuminated. Some examples: if I am at an intersection, I can't see the island on the other side of the intersection; if I'm driving on a road, I have difficulty seeing the lines on the road until I am right on top of them. If I need to change lanes, and there is a car next to me or behind a little, not only do I have trouble figuring out if I have room to move over, I can't tell if the car is in the lane next to me, or 4 lanes over. Generally, if I have to drive at night, I try to get a few carlengths behind another car, and just follow them. For some reason I can see a *little* better, then (maybe because the light from their breaks are coming back at me, so it gives me something to focus on when dealing with depth), and also I can rely on them to see what I can't. I avoid driving at night whenever possible, but if I start working again, I'll have to in fall and winter. THAT scares me to death. > > > I'm having strange problems with my eyesight. Guest guest
, Just checking you out for Fuchs' corneal dystrophy, an eye disease that I have, LOL. It really affects night vision, but it's because each light looks like a giant starburst to me. And if it's raining on top of that, forget it. I just have to feel my way home then.
