Ken,

Let me be one of the first people as it would be an honor to say

thank you for serving our country especially in Vietnam as it was

suck a terrible war. You could not possibly step on my toes as you

know so much more about the whole experience than I ever could. I

personally try to thank all the soldiers who serve our country

today, but you are so right, we need to remember those who have

served before and thank them as well. So let me say it for my

family, THANK YOU KEN! You take care of yourself and thanks for all

the jokes that make me laugh on a regular basis.

Hugs and prayers,

Tracie

> Greetings to allmy R.A. family. And a special hello to Judith

Voter, T o Marina Troi, To Alvarez, and Love to you all.

such pain and suffering....but you know what? Us Viet Nam soldiers,

especially in groups like mine, that served " cross border, Special

Operations Groups " , well, WE had the same knowledge that was

mentioned in that beautiful and toughing thing that Judith Voter

felt enough of, to " send on " ....

dispised. And OUR tactics , our way of " field Operations " was largly

resposible for the way toay's soldiers carry on.

matter anymore. we are old, ancient news. But we're still out there.

I am a Vietnam Era vet too. My dad

was a career soldier and I have always

had the highest respect for our troops.

I was drafted and went even though

then and to this day I was so strongly

against us being in Nam. I was spit on,

cussed out, beat up, and treated like a dog

because I had a uniform on. I wanted to go

to Canada but finally accepted " My

Country Right or Wrong " .

They are having a national thank you event

in Branson this month for all Vietnam Era Vets

nation wide. I thought about going but there

are too many bad memories of serving at that

time.

My 21 year old daughter was asking me how great

the 60's were because of the music and

shows based on them now. I had to sit her down and

explain how the music and the times were

kids her age desperately fighting for what was

right and a very wrong government. We had no say

in at the time.

WE went to Kent State University in Ohio

because she was accepted there. While there

I visited the area where all the shooting

took place. They have changed the story of

what happened there in the brochers they

hand out. I showed Jen the article on the

internet, " America Kills It's Children " , I

believe by Time as to what really happened.

The 20 kids that were wounded that day fought

for 20 years to put up monuments to the 5

kids killed changing class. They won 3 years

ago and the monuments are there now.

Yes, I believe out troops need our full backing

and praise for putting their lives on the line.

I know what it is like not having that and

wish that horror on no one.

I'm not going to the National Thank You

being held. It's forty years too late

and a time in my life I have tried to

forget. I only hope the people of this

country stand behind our troops because

this war is starting to drag on.

Ken, How could you possibly step on anyones toes? Because of people

like you we have the right to voice our opinion, the right to live a

free life, the right to persue our own endevors. I would like to

personally thank YOU for your services to this country and for your

friendship. If it weren't for people like you, we wouldn't have had

this oportunatey to make such great friends in this group. Infact, we

may not have had ANY opportunatey to do ANYthing. So, thank YOU!! I

know and work with some people who were in the special services, green

beret and such. Thanks to them and to you we have the right to do

just about anything.........Marina
