Guest guest
I hadn't heard of Lionel Corbett before coming across this book. Anyone here familiar with him or his work? Bruce Hi Bruce: Lionel Corbet is a Jungian analyst who teaches the subject matter of that book at Pacifica Graduate Institute in Carpenteria, California, --a depth psycho program. His public workshops are about 2-3k, pretty expensive, but the material appears to be solid and those who are interested get academic credit. Guest guest
Lately I've been reading Psyche and the Sacred by Lionel Corbett. He writes: "It is as if the ego is a painting on a canvas that the artist works over on an ongoing basis, sometimes scraping off old paint, sometimes just adding more paint on top of what is already there. Each change produces a different picture of what I call 'me'. The canvas upon which the ego is painted, the actual Ground of consciousness that contains all this information, is one of the great natural mysteries." Guest guest
Hi Bruce, I first heard of Lionel Corbett when I read his book The Religious Function of the Psyche, which preceded Psyche and the Sacred, which I've read also. They contain much of the same material, but the second book is a bit more "reader friendly" in that it is more simply stated. I would highly recommend both books, as each is excellent!
