I remember reading it about a week ago. When the new gynocologist I went to last Thrus. gave me the prescription for Temovate I instantly had a little light go off in my head because of your post. This whole doctor to doctor thing is really getting to me. First it was my own OBGYN, then 3 other doctors here where I live(2 more gynos . Then I decieded to go see the specialists in the City. Believe me, it is a big trip into Manhattan for me, not to mention that none of these doctors take my insurance. I am allowed to go out of network, but still, that 20% is starting to add up quick. Just don't know where to turn next. If I try a new doctor, they will prescribe something that I havn't tried before which is good. However, as soon as I start it, I get nervous because of all the failures with certain drugs that everyone on the list has experienced. I have learned to be cautious of the many doctors and their quick fixes. How they just love to prescribe drugs, and " lets see if this works " . Some doctors don't even have the decency to say, " call me in a week and let me know how your are feeling " . I have made the decision not to take more antibiotics or antifungals unless there is a positive culture. I am dealing with such a heavy discharge and belive me it is very tempting to want to insert some vaginal cleocin.....but I won't do it. Recently I have been in touch with a women who had been suffering with VV for 19 years. She had tried so many different remedies and drugs. She got in touch with a women who is a volunteer leader for the Vulvar Pain Foundation. I have been e-mailing her as well. (wonderful peson). Anyway, after seeing here gynocologist for years with no help she tried a local dermatologist who diagnosed her with Lichen S. She thought for years that she had V. The doctor had her soak in borax soluiton 2 x a day. She is so much better....normal again. Its all natural and costs almost nothing. Now I know I don't have Lichen S. but the point is that this is a doctor who came up with an idea and it worked for this woman who had been suffering for so many years....The woman was open minded enough to try it. I don't know where I am going with this anymore, except that I continue to search for the right doctor and the correct diagnosis and treatment. However you begin to loose sight of this somehow. There are women who have found their cure and women who continue to search as I am still searching. Should I continue with the Temovate or not?? Should I soak in the aveno sitz or the salt water (instant ocean) instead? Should I take anti-fungal or antibiotic when I don't have a positive culture, or try an antidepressant instead? The only thing I am sticking with is the Elavil 10mg. Although it is making me a bit tired I stick with it. I believe it has a calming effect on me if nothing else. I know it will not help this horrible discharge that I have, and I don't know what will. One week from today I will call the new gynocologist I recently saw and tell her how I feel. She needs to address this discharge thing, because I truly believe that is going to be my cure.... Sorry for rambling on....I think it must be the heat Eileen New York
