Hi

Eileen,

The model I bought is the NE-U22. I’ve

found that it is extremely quiet to the point of being silent. The only

sound heard is a very, very quiet hiss. And that is only if you put your

ear right next to it. I takes about 8 to 10 minutes to nebulize one 2.5

mg dose of albuterol, which I find goes quickly. It can run on 3 sources

of power: battery operated (very convenient), home A/C adapter and car A/C

adapater. I have the car charger, but haven’t used it yet because I

believe you have to use part of the home A/C adapter (not too convenient).

All around, I’m satisfied with

it. The only adjustment for me is using the nebulizer instead of the

hand-held inhalers. The nebulizer takes a bit more prep and clean-up

time.

Thus far, I still use the inhaler at night

because I’m not sure if I should put medication in the nebulizer and

leave it overnight on the nightstand. I’ll have to check with Omron

on this.

I hope that helps.

Please take care.

Re:

Digest Number 1312

I have just hired from the chemist my first

nebulizer. It is made by MAYMED, and the model is 'Maymist.'

I will be looking to buy a nebulizer and I

would like to hear from others as to their preferences, and why.

I do notice this particular model seems very

noisy.

Any information is welcome.

Thanks

Marie.

Thanks , that is so helpful and I think I will purchase it. I never timed my Duo Neb (Albuterol), however it seems to nebulize very quickly with my present home compressor. I would use this one for a back up or for traveling.

As far as keeping meds in over night, I wounder if after opening the vials they start to loose effectiveness? Good question for the Dr. Since I use the TTO in my saline therapy, I would not keep it in the cups for any length of time.

Thanks again,

Marie,

About the nebulizer, I just bought a small nebulizer from Omron Healthcare. I really like it because it is easy to use; also, it is small, quiet and portable. It takes a bit of an adjustment to use the nebulizer because I’ve used the standard inhalers for so long, but so far so good. Here’s a link to the Omron Healthcare website if you’d like to read more about it…

Please take care.
