Update on Status of Injectable Methotrexate 2/24/05

This information is being provided to update ACR members on the availability

of injectable methotrexate.

Currently, Mayne Pharmaceuticals has their 50mg/2ml (66479-013501)

injectable methotrexate with preservative in a package with 5 vials

available for direct ordering from their customer service department. They

have also stated that their 2mg/2ml (66479-013721) powder form, preservative

free methotrexate is available and can only be ordered through a wholesaler

for drop delivery. If you have specific questions, you can contact Mayne

Pharmaceuticals at (866) 594-8420.

Bedford Laboratories currently has all methotrexate products on back order.

The first projected release date is March 23 for 50mg/2ml and 100mg/4 ml

vials, their second release date for 50mg, 2ml and 100mg/4 ml vials is April

6. The 200mg/ 8ml and 250mg/10 ml vials will not be available until the

latter part of April. If you have specific questions, you can contact

Bedford Laboratories at (800) 562-4797.

American Pharmaceutical Partners (APP) still has all methotrexate products

on back order as they are still awaiting FDA approval for production to

begin. If you have specific questions you can contact APP at (888) 391-6300.
