Guest guest
If actos is being used for gut and brain inflamation, is there a way to tell if your child would benefit from it before you try it? My guy is on SCD,probiotics, etc and a " perfect pooper " showing no signs of gut inflamation. Is this still worth me trying?
Guest guest
With " perfect poops " you need to find out why your child still has the diagnosis (if he does) and treat accordingly; metals, viruses, gut and/or brain inflammation, bacteria, fungi, peptides in the food, other toxins. Before taking Actos I would need some evidence that there is immune impairment, as its main use is heightening/modulating the immune system which then helps the inflammation repair itself and remyelination start occurring. You can obtain a blood test measuring auto-antibodies in the brain: Myelin Basic Protein (MBP) and/or Neurofilament Antibodies (NF) at Immunosciences. Studies by Singh and Vargas show that the majority of ASD kids do have an auto-immune process going on in their brains and endoscopies show that many kids have inflammation of the gut, some (not usually) even with great stools. However, not all. I certainly would not give a medicine just because it is newly being studied unless I knew what it may be targeting related to my child. Guest guest
Dear Dr Mc, We clearly have the inflammatory issues wth Jack but not the MBP antibodies or NF problems as these were clear on tests we ran with Immunsciences. I'm assuming that it is still worth running with the actos on account of the gut issues we clearly have? With best wishes Re: Actos question With " perfect poops " you need to find out why your child still has the diagnosis (if he does) and treat accordingly; metals, viruses, gut and/or brain inflammation, bacteria, fungi, peptides in the food, other toxins.
