Guest guest
Thank you so much and my best wishes to you too for a happy and healthy new year. Not a good night for me; circumstances have me alone this evening, so it is just me and my cat and dog .. but wait there's more, I am having the worst bronc attack tonight too brought on I think by yet another cold! I just got over a six week battle which included hearing loss ... I hear fine now at least for the moment, ho hum! Deja vu !! I just hope 2007 is better. I have bronc all over my lungs apparently according to my pulmonary doc. I am not on antibiotics, trying to avoid taking any more for a while but I am coughing and spitting up gobs of mucus, at least it is coming up without any postural exercises! I do have a portable nebulizer. So am planning on using it tonight which hopefully will make my breathing better. It is a tough evening for me.... Janetmaryholt12@... wrote: Hello! Hi Janet..colds scare the ' bejeesus ' outta me..seriously. Now would be a good time for you to start an anti..really, it would. For those of us w/comprimised lung and immune systems it's so easy for a simple cold to manifest into something alot nastier..I know I don't have to warn you to keep a close check on the color of your sputum or if what you're coughing up tastes different. I can tell immediately when something's brewing just by the color and taste..it's more like pus than spit..hang on..use your flutter valve or any other mucous removing device you have handy..drink LOTS of water..lemon would be good and it helps more to cut that thick stuff when we get colds.. Guest guest
Good grief these New Years Eve attacks must be common. I too had an attack after dinner last night and a miserable time until I finally got to sleep about 3AM. My daughter who has Bronc also had a bad evening. This morning we feel much better and the Champagne we cooled last night will do just as well tonight. I think we need to celebrate every day as a God given boon. Happy New Year everyone. Guest guest
Thanks! I actually feel much better today than yesterday and am not coughing up as much but still have that familiar "crackling" chest that needs to be flutterized! I used the nebulizer last night to help me breathe, it worked fine but raised my b/p and pulse rate which is not what I need with my heart condition! I am taking the mucinex which I swear by ... really good otc stuff and works for me. Plus a Vicks nasal inhaler and of course had my humidifier going by my bedside. Hopefully I can get away without using antibiotics this time. I know I probably need them, yes I have the taste and the thick pus but it has thinned out today. I have been on antibiotics all last year along with three huge doses of prednisone ... want to get my immune system back to normal as possible! It is unfortunate that when we get colds it always is much worse than anyone else ... it is difficult to keep from catching them ... I work, I shop and I have family visits. I always seem to encounter someone with a cold and try to cover my mouth!! I have a mask but am too embarrassed to use one! But the sun is shining here today and the temperatures are not too cold. Will work out in the garden to get some fresh air.
