He LISTENED to me! He said what I suspected - it's lupus or rheumatoid arthritis

or both. My mom was with me and she helped me remember some things I'd have been

too foggy to mention.

For now, I'm just trying a new anti-inflammatory (Feldane) while we wait for lab

work. What to do next depends on what labs show.

This is what he ordered:

CBC

Comprehensive Metabolic Panel

Urinalysis

ESR

ANA (tested positive before)

Anti-CCP

ENA

Anti-DNA (tested negative a couple of years ago)

C3

SS-A & SS-B

I've since thought of several questions, of course! I'm writing them down. I

have a follow-up in 6 weeks, but need to call in a week for lab work results.

I'm not sure he truly " got " that since it took so freakin' long to get in, my

symptoms were not at their worst. Or he did, and he's totally used to that, LOL.

Didn't seem to matter - he took me seriously.

I'm just relieved he listened - I was truly scared and anxious that he'd blow me

off.

So it's good/bad news - I was prepared to hear what I heard, but an autoimmune

disorder isn't exactly good news, but he listened to me and that's great news.

:-)

Great news, Bren. I'm happy to hear that your first appointment went well. I

hope the labs shed some light on what's going on.
