Guest guest
<< Since I've had my monitor only during the past 3 weeks or so; on the day it was 149 at the lab; on my quickie test it was about 170. Is there always a large difference between the fasting and the quick test? >> There often is a fairly noticeable difference. What I do is take my monitor to the lab, and as soon as the lab tech has drawn my blood, I do a test. When I get the lab results I compare the two. I use the results to get an idea of what the difference is likely to be. It's a good idea to do this a few times to be sure of the relationship between your meter and the lab results. But ultimately, the difference doesn't matter all that much as long as you use the same meter regularly. Doctors expect the difference and take it into account when giving advice.
