Guest guest
Has anyone had a flare from strawberries? I am so red and raw. Both lips are on fire if you look at them and it started either from strawberries or extreme stress I'm under. Any input? Thanks, Lainey

I am sure the extreme stress you mentioned is not helping your symptoms but strawberries are usually not tolerated on the oxalate or I.C. diet, but they sure taste good!! Have you tried the Tums again? Also maybe you could eat a small amount of strawberries with prelief. I hope you get some relief soon! I wish I could wave my wand, but until I can try to stay away from fruits that are berries if you can. Take good care Darlene
Guest guest
Darlene: I keep forgetting about the Prelief. I'll check that out at the store to put on foods that make the IC ouch. I also forgot about the Tums. Stress? What stress? LOL. Do you use Prelief? Take care, Lainey

I haven't really used it but I know many people say it really helps them. Interstitial Cystitis Association - Research - Prelief Study Completed by Dr. K AkPharma Home PageĀ Lainey, the AkPharma home page will give you the info on how to get the free samples. Hope this helps! Darlene
Guest guest
Hi Lainey, Yes I have! I have found that I can only eat strawberries if they are served in a dessert with quick-jel (like jelly). Strange, but that makes a difference! love Fiona *~*~* Re: Strawberries From: Lainey9911@... Has anyone had a flare from strawberries? I am so red and raw. Guest guest
Hi everyone, With all the discussion on berries I just wanted to mention that berries are high in oxalate. Sandi
Guest guest
All, I can eat strawberries, blackberries, raspberries with no problem. I don't experience a flare up or anything. I know with the IC diet, berries are kind of a no/no aren't they? I think it's because they are acidic and kind of burn the bladder. I wonder if that is what's happening to your vulvas? Glad I don't have the problem because I LOVE berries (especially strawberries)! Warmly, Heidi
