Guest guest
HI Angie, I have been there. First, you might want to call your rheumy and let him know how badly you are feeling, May 9th is quite a long time away. Second, can you take a few sick days to catch up on some much needed rest? It might help you a lot. I am very new at this and I am amazed that you are still working. I finally gave that up. You definitely have a lot of people supporting you here in the group, don't ever forget that. Gentle hugs and best of luck, Tracie in Maine [ ] fatique and not feeling well For the last couple of weeks I have been so tired. I just don't have any energy the last two days have even been worse Felt like a truck ran over me I was in so much pain and so tired. Now every joint in my body hurts also don't know if the right foot is hurting so bad from the fracture or if its just part of the rest of my aches. The othro hasn't called me back yet so I don't know what going on with it. Does anyone have any secrets to deal with the fatique I am just so tired I have trouble getting up in the morning come home from work and collapse on the couch I go back and see the rheumy on May 9 so I will talk to him then. Thanks for listening to me whine. I appreciate your support Don't get a whole lot from anyplace else. Thanks Angie

Guest guest
Angie, I think the fatigue is the worse part of this disease! When I have flares, I noticed that my foot and ankle hurt worse then. My right foot has 5 stress fractures in it and a torn tendon. So, believe me, I know what that feels like, especially when having a flare!! I agree with Tracie. You need to call your rheumy and see if you can get in sooner. Or, maybe leave a message with his nurse so you can get some advice from them. As for dealing with the fatigue, when you are having a flare, I haven't found anything to help it. Otherwise, rest is the best thing. I try to get some sleep. If you have any pain meds, be sure to take them to help with the inflamation. That is part of what is causeing your foot to hurt more. I hope you get over this soon. I am going through it as well, at this time. Sometimes it seems as if it just sneeks up on you. As for support, I don't get it anywhere else but here, either. Not even my employer or boss (who is a nurse) doesn't give a rats butt about what I am going through. So, feel free to whine all you want. The wonderful people here are more than willing to listen. Feel free to email me if you want to talk....Marina in Ohio

Guest guest
Angie: I take really hot showers to help relieve the pain. I also find using a hot tub and a sauna helpful as well. I will go to my local recreational centre and use these to treat myself. Most of these facilities are handicapped accessible....so easy to get in and out of. Also, I use a parrafin wax dip for my hands and feet. I find that it provides me with a lot of relief. I am also a believer that if you're tired, then you should sleep. I also find that using extra pillows to support mybody helps as well. I place one under my knees to help me to be comfortable while I'm resting. Good luck... --- In , " along302003 " <along3@c...> wrote: > > For the last couple of weeks I have been so tired. Guest guest
Thanks for your message you are right the hot showers do make me feel better till I get out of it. Unfortualy I don't have access to the hot tub or sauna. I will try to get out this weekend to the the parafin you suggested. I'll try anything. I gave in last night and went to bed at 8:30 but I can't say I feel much better. Thanks again for your suggestions and your support. THanks Angie > > > > For the last couple of weeks I have been so tired.
