RE always pitching

The advantages of working for oneself for me, after doing this since residency completed in standard path in 1988 is perhaps unique for my particular situation ( some big groups/hospital owned failing or reconsolidating) but still outway the faults.

Everyone has their thing -- I see 40-55 pts a week, but in addition about 12% of my income is from outside sources such as a college physician, medical director for travel vaccines (oversite really), some occupational medicine. I'm almost busy enough in the office to turn down some of the less interesting/more annoying work.

Reassess what works for you and never underestimate how annoying an unreasonable doc employer can be for your peace of mind -- remember if they pay you, they expect to tell you what to do first, last AND always.

Will NEVER EVER work for hospital/insurance company as salary EVER again
