Guest guest
Hello Listmates, I made muffins this morning using pecan butter as the main ingredient. An hour and a half after breakfast, a big hive suddenly appeared on my son's forehead and several on the back of his neck. He was also scratching his arms, and his eczema has flared up. I don't think I've ever given him pecans before, though I didn't think of this until after the fact. It did not show up as reactive on his IgG. He hasn't been IgE tested yet. If it's an IgE mediated allergic reaction to nuts, would it show up 1 1/2 hours after eating it? I thought it was more immediate than that. I have been rotating egg whites back into his diet every 4 days. This had been a very low IgG allergy. He had egg whites yesterday. Could this be causing the eczema and/or hives? Maybe they're a seperate issue. I didn't notice any obvious reaction on my first two or three rotations of egg whites. Thanks for any and all advice.
