Guest guest
Hi Corinne, I am fairly new to this list but have gained a wealth of information from the posts. I have also gained a new perspective about myself too. I have always felt terrible that I can no longer do the things I used to do. I have always been the " Jill of all trades " around my home and have felt guilty that things now have to either wait or slide. After reading some of the problems my fellow sufferers have gone through I realize that it is not me just being lazy. That makes me feel better just knowing that. As far as treatment, I think different things work for different people. At present I am taking Methotrexate tablets once every week and having Remicade infusions every 8 weeks. The nice thing about Remicade is that your dosage can be increased and increased and increased until you find the dosage that leaves you relatively pain free for the 8 week interval until your next infusion. I started at 3 vials and am up to 5 and do pretty well on that. This might be something you want to discuss with your doctor. I have noticed a lot of people, including myself, going through flares during this time. Do you think that maybe since our immune systems are not as they should be, that we are unknowingly suffering some sort of allergic reaction to all of the trees, grass and flowers (as well as weeds) beginning their re-growth? Just a thought. Corinne, please feel free to contact me off-line anytime you want to just vent. Hugs, Pat
