Guest guest Posted April 10, 2005 Report Share Posted April 10, 2005 Lexi, when my wrists flare I use my splint. Mine is the one with a metal plate that goes from the hand up over the wrist area. If it becomes too uncomfortable, I take the metal piece out and use the splint without it. I also have a night time splint which goes beyond the fingers up to my elbow. I stopped using this one because more than once I bonked DH on the nose, blood all over the pillow and sheet lol. For me, splinting during a flare is the only thing that works for me. I stopped taking Bextra for 3 days and now in a flare and could barely move so this morning I went back to Bextra until I can discuss this with the doctor.
