Guest guest
Lexi: Thanks for the info! I received an info package in the mail the other day from the Arthritis Society with meeting times, etc. Just waiting to get this current flare under control before I start anything. I am going to start MTX injections in 2 weeks, and will also inquire about Folic Acid injections as well. I am taking Oxycontin slow-release 40mg, but it still doesn't touch my pain. All it does is make me feel drunk/loopy. Will also ask about gold injections....(don't know a whole heck of a lot about them). I am also going to talk to my Rheumy about Remicade infusions. Take care, and thanks for the contact name...

Guest guest
, Talk with your doc about possible pain pump of sorts. I would think if you are not getting good pain control then your meds need to be adjusted to account for the bypassed portion of your small bowel. You may need to get your surgeon to consult with your rheummy. I would also push for pain management consult to see if they can manage you better. I hope you find relief. If you have not checked this out. There is a site on www.obesityhelp,com about arthritis, pain mangement and absorption of meds. Please check if out. Maybe it can help you. this was the Number one reason I chose lapband over gastric bypass...cause with my luck I would stop absorbing any necessary medication I needed. Its such a frustrating thing. You think this surgery will help solve the weight problem so you can feel better...but yet and still it creates a whole new set of problems to deal with.
