Yes, my mistake. The people that I know that do use the coffee

enemas use organic, caffeinated coffee. I've never heard anyone

insist on using a certain brand, just organic.

From what I understand, you must

I know when my co-worker got them, her husband would

administer them. He gave me a run down on how he did it and I forget most

of it but he did specify a certain type of organic coffee he had to order

for the enemas. Some name I never heard of.

When his wife had cancer he got the enema formula from the Gerson Institute. (Dr. Max Gerson was the originator of coffee enemas) Wish I could think of the name of the coffee. I think it may be used only for coffee enemas. I remember him saying it's very strong (which probably means "bitter") and you wouldn't want to drink it. In a pinch I'd use any kind, but my friend followed the directions to the letter.

Hi Candace,

When I was a teenager my natural health advisor had my mother use the

cooled down leftover brewed coffee in enemas for me. It would

supposedly help to get the plaque off the bowel lining. I can't

remember any adverse reactions. It did help to move the bowels - I

never got diarrhea from it. I can't remember the frequency. I think

twice a week at first then once a week for a couple of months. - Dolly

Candace,

I have used them a few times. You have to be careful, to not use TOO

much coffee, it made me cramp like NO OTHEr i've used before. Not

quite as gentle as I had hoped. But, it did work. I have also used a

bit of lemon juice which i like better.

Best,

Anne

Sorry, should have been more specific!

I have always had BAD problems with constipation... usually juice

fasting or cutting out all meat/dairy takes care of it. Lately even

taking my regular EIGHT Formula #1 pills isn't working. My gut is so

swollen I look like I'm 5 months pregnant.

My mom said she heard a coffee enema works wonders for emptying out

your colon. Was wondering if that's true/if it has worked for anyone

on here.

Thanks, that was gonna be my next question: how bad was the cramping!

I have tried regular ole water enemas and it didn't do squat. All I

got to come out was dirty water. Maybe the cramping would be a good

thing for me!

Is there something about prune juice or stewed prunes that speeds up the process?

I have never had success just eating the dried prunes, even when drinking lots of water. I found that stewing the prunes softens them and coupled with drinking the warm prune broth, really does the trick. Or drinking prune juice.

On the left just below my rib cage.... that'd be it!!!

I learn so much on here, thanks, guys!!!

RE: Hmmm

It is common for the left side to have pain from impactions. The large intestine starts on the lower right, travels straight up, bend and heads to the left just below the rib cage, bends again and heads down on the left, does an “S” turn called the sigmoid colon and connects to the rectum. If you’ve had an impaction for a while it makes sense that the place it was held up at is sore and stretched out a bit. Keep eating the prunes and lots of clean water and fiber-rich foods. If the pain does not ease in a few days, then there may be a chance you have developed another problem, possibly diverticulitis. My guess is that you will feel lots better in a few days though.

Wonder why people keep asking me if I'm constipated today. LOL

Question: I've been snackin on prunes throughout the evening (and drinking a LOT more water than I normally do) Nothin has been happening.

Is there something about prune juice or stewed prunes that speeds up the process?

And.... strange thing.... when I'm really plugged up the first place it hurts is my left side. Well this morning I made 4 GINORMOUS "deposits" and now my left side seems to hurt WORSE than when I was plugged. Think that could mean something is wrong or it's just used to being lazy and this is too much of a workout????? Everywhere else I feel much much better. This is the first day I've had energy in... I can't remember how long.

Either way I'm not letting it off the hook. And... I hadn't had prunes since I was probably 7 years old. I had forgotten how delicious they are!
