Guest guest
Hi All, Had the first part of the Trial beginning last week. So far, pretty easy! I had too much scar tissue on one side so they are only going to be able to control things from the left side. Sadly there is just too much damage on the other. But, not to focus on the bad! I had to use a very high setting and I was at first really worried this would be a problem. The good news they have products to deal with this as well and while the implantable unit will be a bit larger than planned, they will be able to go ahead and put in a permanent unit (Woohoo). First bit of heaven.... I no longer have to knock little children out of the way to get to the bathroom. I realized today I had forgotten to wear a pad to work for the 2nd day in a row! I think.. " Hey, I should go to the bathroom. Then I have 15 minutes to do it!!!! Not 15 seconds. " And, at night... I sleep all night, every night. I can graciously let my husband go first even if he's " dying' ;-) The first part of the surgery I was awake but it wasn't painful. More embarassing than anything. A bunch of people you don't see talking about your behind. It really started hurting 2 days afterward though! We are having a very bad time scheduling this last surgery -- the implant part. Despite having it all set, my urologist office called me and asked if they could move the date. I said no -- I had a class to teach. Next thing I know, I get a letter from the hospital telling me they had rescheduled the date anyway!!! Then I was told it was the salesman's fault. I already talked to him so they decided to come clean with the truth which is my urologist wants to go on vacation when my surgery is scheduled. I guess there is some limit to how long you should leave these things hanging outside your body. I'll be running out of antibiotics soon. I had to cancel the hospital appointment, they still had done that! It will be exciting to see what they do. I gave them no less than 7 alternate dates. I'm kind of sad since we had made these plans earlier and I arranged my classes based on these dates. Its like saying my students/patrons are as valuable as ... well.. Quite the moral question, eh? <<hugs to all --- everyone's time is valuable!!!>> M.
