If it is an unusual itch, like worms crawling UNDER your skin, you might want to

get your liver enzyme levels checked.

Dear Beth,

I itch all the time as does my husband. We are both seronegative for RA. My

husband and my liver enzymes were unusually high so he had a screen for

Hepatitis C and so did I. His is positive and mine is not but mine is not back

yet.

Let me know what you find out.

Hi Nina--are you saying this might be a reaction to medication rather than the

RA itself? You nailed it right on the head--it's much like restless legs

syndrome, but all over!

It certainly could be a reaction to medication. I've never heard of itching as

a symptom of RA. I do have the " worms under the skin " type of itching. It's

from Primary Biliary Cirrhosis, which is an autoimmune disease that destroys the

bile ducts in your liver.
