Guest guest
Hi...One of my favorite books is the 'autobiography' of a woman who was dx'd with lupus in the '80s. The title is " Lupus Novice. " What I have always felt so inspired by was this woman's determination and open mind to try traditional, alternative, and some controversial treatments in her desire to have a healthier life and raise her 2 sons. I bought it in San Francisco when I was there in the late 80's. I think the author's name is Chester, but I might be a little off on that. For sure the title is " Lupus Novice " , and perhaps used copies could be found on eBay or other out-of-print book venders. I don't always agree with the author's choices, but I think her story portrays well her will and courage to make her life and her children's life better, and how she leaves 'no stone unturned' in her quest. Love & hugs... Tess

Guest guest
Wow, , I never thought to look on Amazon (and I have purchased things from Amazon through the years but never from eBay! : ) A couple weeks after my husband and I were told about my three youngest children but about a month or so before we actually began the adoption process I was told I had " sero-negative lupus " , and/or " mixed connective tissue disease. " My doctor was pretty grim, and this was one of those " Come into my office we have something serious to discuss " situations. This was in 1980. Over the years, the dx's has changed several plus times, but when I found this book it really spoke to my heart about the struggle to raise children and not lose hope when you feel so utterly awful. I've read it off and on over the years and always seem to get something new from it. Love... Tess
