Guest guest
I am just wading through hundreds of pages compiled by the bf for the G8 and Time request on the current state of water. Simple clean drinking water is not available to 1.7 billion people. Nearly 5 million people a year die from unsafe drinking water -- 90% of these are children under the age of 5. How do we win the war to provide safe, clean drinking water to the world? The first path that the world leaders are recognizing is that women are the safe keepers of clean water. Educate the women and one of the most important steps has begun. Beyond this, how to get the water into and then out from the urban areas to the pre-urban areas? This involves a multitude of ideas and costs. Interestingly enough, it is one of the primary focuses of the G8 and it is felt that the UN is not the place through which to do this but with governmental instigation and support of private industry with a keen eye kept to safe guarding the water from pilferage and theft. Anyway, that's the very brief version of several thousands of pages I'm reading through at the moment. Amen to small blessings.
