Guest guest
Hello All, Thanks for the e-mails of support. I didn't put too much detail in my original post as a result of being blasted by another sarc group for not supporting conventional wisdom medicine -prednisone which in my illness is now considered as a real threat to health. I've been trying start the Marshall Protocol and find a physician that will monitor me - the search is underway - thanks a. The MP researchers have turned their scope to RA in the hope that there are similarities in the causing factors of Sarc, RA and other immune disease. Having read through many posts, I can see similarities in the quality of people - striving for relief, treatment and a cure despite the closed shop of many GP's & specialists and the almost guinea pig approach by some " doctors " . The mindset that I have faced is yes prednisone is toxic, but it works.....not when you read the research. My physician (a wonderful doctor that has supported me above the call on many occasions) simply refuses to try a non-standard treatment, won't read any material relating to it and claimed that using low level long term tetracyclines is dangerous....what about the 4 1/2 years of prednisone (and 5 supplemental protective drugs) that you were quite happy to prescribe.......she no longer argues with me, I have educated myself to try and understand my illness and have found that several physicians are uncomfortable with a questioning patient. I had a physician (sarc " specialist " ) question me for 15 minutes on the whole Marshall Protocol and then asked why I was bothering to memorise this stuff - I replied that as the illness is in my body that I have the responsibility as a primary member of my Health Team to educate myself so that I can make informed decisions/choices concerning my health. He offered this " free " advice - " take ten years out of your life, go to Med School, get trained as a Doctor, then you can make an educated and informed decision about health " - last time I checked there is only one All Seeing, All Knowing being - and that being is not an MD......... To finish, sorry for the rant, I'm as frustrated as next person facing an insidious disease and trying to find a way through. But I do see the level of commitment bravery and humour on this group as on the sarc group that I belong to - thanks again. Never give up! Guest guest
, When I was on a support group for people taking antibiotics for rheumatoid arthritis, it was common practice to blast anyone on traditional meds. It bothered me a lot and I left. We are all free to choose what course of treatment we want to take and although opinions are welcome here, blasting someone for their choice isn't. I hope you find a doctor that will prescribe the Marshall Protocol. Antibiotic treatment for RA has always interested me and I'm sorry I haven't pursued it more. It's just not encouraging to read that it's most effective in early RA and I've had RA for over 25 years. Have you tried a rheumatologist? They may be more willing to prescribe tetracycline than a GP. I know it is frustrating. a On Apr 6, 2005, at 10:15 AM, fly_mo_hotmail wrote: > > > Hello All, > Thanks for the e-mails of support.
