Guest guest
, I do not believe you have been misled. I read " The Road Back " and tried hard to find a doctor that would prescribe minocycline. It was not easy. I finally was able to talk my own rheumatologist into giving it to me, but I didn't follow through because I have long standing disease (25+) years, and from what I've read, it is effective in early arthritis. For long standing arthritis, intravenous antibiotics are required, and there is no way my rheumy would go for that. I don't know what kind of relationship you have with your doctor, but maybe if you printed some of these articles and brought them to him, he would consider adding minocycline to your current meds. That is what my rheumy did. Since the antibiotics have anti-inflammatory properties, he prescribed them, but he had no faith that they would help beyond some help with inflammation. There are doctors that will prescribe the protocol, but finding them isn't easy. I recently moved to Florida and one of the doctors that worked with McPhearson practiced right here in my town. I was so excited that I'd finally be able to go to a doctor that believed in this protocol, but to my dismay, he moved. What state do you live in? Guest guest
, I haven't read " The Road Back " but my rheumy did prescribe Minocycline to treat my RA. It was extremely effective. I can't remember how long I took it, but seems like it was about a couple of years. But all of a sudden my extremities were all massive bruises all over. My doctor said it was a very rare side effect and they eventually cleared after discontinuing the Minocycline. My doctor has had great success with antibiotic therapy with his patients. He said many doctors hesitate to use the old treatments, thinking newer is better. Good luck in finding someone. There are doctors out there that will do it; you just may have to call around.
