Guest guest
FDA clears Stratagene autoimmune test MAR. 21 11:18 A.M. ET Stratagene Corp., a maker of biotechnology research and testing tools, said Monday that the Food and Drug Administration cleared its test for a digestive disorder called celiac disease. The company said the autoimmune test complements a similar product cleared by the FDA in 2004. The test will be made by Stratagene's Hycor Biomedical unit and brings the number of the company's FDA-cleared autoimmune tests to 32. People with celiac disease cannot tolerate gluten, a protein found in wheat, rye and barley. It is the most common genetic disease in Europe and research suggests it occurs in about one in 133 Americans, according to the National Institutes of Health. http://www.businessweek.com/ap/financialnews/D88VF7L80.htm? campaign_id=apn_home_down a
