Dear Nova,

Welcome.

This a good time to be here. tell us a little about yourself if you are so inclined. It's easier to write to someone one knows just a little...at least for me

Since April 2004, I have been nebulizing one drop TTO in a .09% saline solution 2 times a day along with Duo Nebs and Tobi Nebs (every other month). I have been free from pseudomonus and aspergillus infections. Since April, . I have contracted only one infection since and the sputum culture for that one came back negative. A coarse of Levaquin (sp.?) cleared it up.

hi all

so those that use TTO ,, how are you using it???

I have used EO's in hot water beside my bed at nite. That is about all. In-takeing???

I personally would ask a expert ,, each to his own.

But curious how people use it.

SO Wed I go for my CF test. Had family over tonight and we tried to figure out a link.

My mother has bronch. Grandma always had pneumonia, my Aunt after we told her the symptoms , she figures she has it too. Other Aunt is fine. Uncle... probably ,ex smoker always coughing and getting lung infections. Now I am going to my Grandmothers brothers family and asking them the question. I will be interested in the results of the CF test.

Think someone said there is like 1400 varieties???

I'll let you know.

take care all

Hi Jen,

I thought it was the other way around - but maybe it's tomatoes - tamatoes? I

thought Chiari was common in tethered cord as the cord pulled the hindbrain

downward, causing the herniation ... but as I said...

Welcome to the list - we seen to be getting a lot of new members that are yet

diagnosed and it's good that the word is getting out that there are some

symptoms that may be seen with tethers.

I have Lipomeningocele and Chiari (five untetherings, but thankfully, no

decompression needed.)

Hope you find some answers and support and that when you do have an MRI of your

spine, that you are one of the lucky ones that is free and clear of this!

Kathy

hello...

I'd like to learn as much as possible about this condition.

I have Arnold Chiari malformation1 and was decompressed 2 years ago. I still

have many problems and i'm concerned about TCS.

I also worry for my children. ACM1 is familial and from what I understand TCS

is a common occurance with ACM1.

I look forward to reading your posts :)

Hi

I'm so sorry about your children. I can't even imagine - two of our four

children have Spina Bifida Occulta and no problems at all from it. It was found

incidentally after we them all MRI'd (from their head to their toes) to rule out

Chiari and tethers.

I'm curious - the worst my herniation ever got to was 10mm w/blockage, but the

herniation receded and allowed flow again after one of my untetherings - did

your MRI show a blockage of fluid prior to your decompression? Do you know how

large/small the herniation was?

Your children - I take it they haven't been MRI'd? I had tons of kidney and

bladder problems as a child from the tether. I wasn't diagnosed until I was 36

though.

Hi Kathy-

No, we never had the kids tested. I was told there was no reason

unless they had serious signs/symptoms of Chiari.

My cerebellar herniations were 5-6mm on MRI, but they were 13mm on

one side and 10mm on the other upon opening me up in surgery.

Dr. Bolognese of TCI said that MRIs are only as good as the angle

they present, so my herniations were in fact much worse than my films

ever showed.

I had no CSF flow posteriorly or through the fourth ventrical.

I still have diminished flow anteriorly.

I'm happy to hear that your kids are asymptomatic!

I hope mine kids troubles are just from other things and not TCS.
