Guest guest
From Janet, Presdient of HOBB. We are all thinking of Melinda and her family and hoping the best for them. No one should eer have to go through this horror. Barbara : Dear All, : Attached are pictures of Melinda Ballard and husband Ron today leaving : the courtroom after closing arguments. The couple made national news : when they were featured on the 48 hour program after they became victims : of toxic mold that infested their home. The courtroom was full of : press, attorneys and other victims of mold for the closing arguments. : The outcome of this case is so very important to many other victims : across the country. : : A large delegation of homeowners and attorneys from Houston also : attended. As many of you already know Houston has been in the news : recently because of the high number of homeowners who have had to vacate : their homes because of Toxic Molds as a result of construction defects. : One homeowner told of their hardship, how the children are forced to : sleep on the floor and how they have only one car since their other car : was so contaminated and had to be left behind in the garage. This issue : creates such terrible hardships on families since many of their personal : belonging and furnishings must be left behind. : : Today I am left with such a helpless feeling and can not imagine how : these families are able to cope with their hardships. While many of us : are forced to live in defective homes which totally disrupts our lives, : imagine that these families are forced to move to temporary housing : (motels, etc) that sometimes extends for months and even years. How sad. : : : So, the next time when we are frustrated about our own situation, let us : take a minute and think about what we can do for these families. These : people really need our help. They truly need a united effort. : : As you can see this one is weighing heavy on my mind. What hardships : they must endure. Imagine being homeless minus all your worldly : possessions while you still have the 30 mortgage obligation on an : uninhabitable home. : : Janet : : : Janet Ahmad, President : HomeOwners for Better Building : San , TX : http://www.hobb.org
